HI, I’M JEAN

Thank you for stopping by. I’m Jean, mother to three adult children and the wife of a horse vet. But, you find me here as someone affected by the family disease of drug and alcohol addiction. I write about recovery from a Catholic perspective.

Since all twelve-step groups originated from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), I decided to research the Church’s part in AA’s history. That led me to St. Ignatius of Loyola and his Spiritual Exercises. They quickly became tools that I used in growing my relationship with God.

First of all there is HOPE. Secondly, you are NOT alone. There are so many of us out there who have been touched by this disease. I focus on three areas of my recovery from the effects of other people. I am working very hard to recover my faith, recover myself and to recover my family. It is a lifelong journey that I’m traveling with God as my guide. I hope that you will follow along!
